Two things are true for just about any person with a Cairn Terrier in their life: A) They know Toto in The Wizard of Oz was a Cairn, and B) They’ve dealt with countless people who mistaken Cairns for Yorkies or Scotties or any of the other smaller terriers. This tea draws from two influences. One can be found in the slight greenish color of the tea leaves and the bursts of brilliant color from the rhubarb in the blend pay homage to Terry, the dog who played Toto in the classic film (representing the splashes of color on the Yellow Brick Road on the way to the Emerald City). The other is found in the type of tea, Oolong. Considered is one of the more complex teas to make thanks to its semi-oxidized state, and therefore tends to command a premium. It’s also our founder Sean’s favorite tea type. And since it’s his company and his family had a Cairn growing up, he made sure that the finest tea was set aside for the finest dog breed!
